Taking Your Baby Out For The First Time

Whether it's a quick walk in the stroller or a longer trip, see how to make your baby's first outing easy.
Double-check the diaper bag

Bring diapers, wipes, a change of baby clothes, and anything else you'll need.

Do a trial run
Know the ins and outs of baby gear such as your car seat, stroller, and baby carrier before you head out.
Keep it simple
Don't go too far, or for too long, or anywhere you haven't been before. Preferably take a stroller along.

Get support
If possible, bring a friend or family member along for help and company.
Be prepared
People may ooh and ahh over and even try to touch your baby. Decide what you'll allow.
Be realistic
Don’t expect to get much accomplished. And don't worry if things don't go exactly according to plan!
